HTML

XHTML 1.0

XHTML 1.0, which stands for Extensible Hypertext Markup Language, is the markup language which has the working system like HTML, but more intensive in language structure. It has a similar structure like XML since HTML uses SGML structure which is quite flexible. XHTML, however, has been developed from XML, which has its similarity with SGML but more intensive. Therefore, we can say that XHTML is a transformation of HTML into XML structure.

XHTML 1.0 joined World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) on 26 January 2000 and W3C Recommendation on 31 May 2001. However, developers believe that HTML 5 will be replaced by XHTML 1.0 soon.

HTML 5

HTML 5 is a markup language for the next version of WWW of HTML. The first version was released on 22 January 2008. It is also divided into 2 types: original version of HTML (text/html) and XHTML which is expected to release soon.
